Happy Doula offers continuous
labor & birth support to moms and
partners. Sometimes it can be difficult for
providers to attend to you continuously.
We are present throughout your entire
labor, and help explain what you are going through and what to expect. We also
help with relaxation, helpful positions and massage. We do not make medical
decisions, but we do offer information
to help explain various options.
If a partner is tired or anxious,
we support them, too. Oftentimes,
parents take a one-day childbirth class,
and are then expected to remember
the stages of labor, recall helpful
relaxation techniques, support moms
selflessly and keep their cool when
the one they love is going through
something intense. This is a lot
to ask of one person.
Happy Doula provides emotional
and physical support so your birth
is the loving experience every
new family deserves.

Keela Bourgoin, CD, PPD, CBE, CMT, CEIM  -  practicing since 2009
Keela is a birth & postpartum doula, a massage therapist, an infant massage instructor, a childbirth/new parent educator and a nanny. She is passionate about empowering and nurturing her clients through education and support and she was drawn towards the specific work of a doula because she has always been and continues to be fascinated by the innate ability that each woman possesses to give birth and care for their babies. She hopes that her role as doula and educator provides the partnership and guidance that her clients need to discover their individual inner strength and unique capacity to give birth and become amazing parents.

Keela left a career in the financial services industry in early 2009 and has not looked back.
She holds a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Connecticut and she is professional trained through: The Cortiva Institute School of Massage Therapy, Birthing Gently Doula Services & Professional Education, DONA International, the Boston Association of Childbirth Education and Infant Massage USA. In 2012, Keela attended the WomanCraft Midwifery Retreat in Amherst, MA. The time she spent immersed in midwifery and birth gave her the “push” she needed to further her career as a birth professional. This year Keela will study to become a midwife through the WomanCraft Midwifery Educational Program.

About Keela
Brett and Keela have been doula partners since 2010, and are working towards becoming
CPMs (Certified Professional Midwives), studying with WomanCraft Midwifery in 2013.
Kerilee joined the Happy Doula team in July of 2013.
We are committed to helping our clients enjoy empowering, healthy and amazing birth experiences.
When not prepping for or attending births, Keela loves adding new stamps to her passport. Whenever the opportunity arises, she jumps at the chance to visit new places. Like Brett, Keela also has an artsy side and when her schedule allows it, she enjoys painting. Those who know her well know she rarely leaves home without a camera. She loves capturing candid moments or the natural beauty of her environment. She also enjoys spending time outdoors and being active and especially loves outings to the beaches and trustee reservations on the North Shore with her adorable rescue pup, Kona.
