Happy Doula offers continuous
labor & birth support to moms and
partners. Sometimes it can be difficult for
providers to attend to you continuously.
We are present throughout your entire
labor, and help explain what you are going through and what to expect. We also
help with relaxation, helpful positions and massage. We do not make medical
decisions, but we do offer information
to help explain various options.
If a partner is tired or anxious,
we support them, too. Oftentimes,
parents take a one-day childbirth class,
and are then expected to remember
the stages of labor, recall helpful
relaxation techniques, support moms
selflessly and keep their cool when
the one they love is going through
something intense. This is a lot
to ask of one person.
Happy Doula provides emotional
and physical support so your birth
is the loving experience every
new family deserves.

Brett Mentuck, CD(DONA), CBE  -  practicing since 2008
Brett’s skills, experience and passion center around caring for people. It has always been important to her that people feel comfortable, confident that their needs will be taken care of, and truly able to fully immerse themselves and enjoy their surroundings - and this is especially true during the delicate and emotional time of labor and birth. Brett’s love of service, her admiration of women’s inner strength, humor and wisdom, her passion for empowering mommas to trust their bodies and their hearts - and the amazing births of her own two children - are what drove her to becoming a doula
and childbirth educator.

Since becoming certified with DONA International in 2009, Brett has expanded her knowledge of the world of birth in trainings for childbirth education, prenatal yoga, labor massage, aromatherapy and accupressure & reflexology - through trainings with Birthing Gently Doula Services & Professional Education, Swallowtail Yoga, Spinning Babies, and The Barefoot Dragonfly. Most recently,
Brett attended a Midwifery Assitant training workshop with the internationally celebrated midwives,
Ina May Gaskin and Pamela Hunt, at The Farm in Tennessee, where she worked closely with a
group of international student midwives. Her intimate experience studying with Ina May and Pamela solidified Brett’s desire to become a CPM (Certified Professional Midwife), and she is excited to begin her studies with WomanCraft Midwifery in March of 2013.
